Ring Die Installation & Maintenance Guide

The ring die is a critical wearing part of a pellet mill. Correct installation and maintenance are essential for efficiency and reducing wear. Follow these key steps to prevent issues like loosening, vibration, and premature failure.

DIE

Key Requirements:

1. Use Genuine Parts: Always prefer original ring die liners to ensure proper fit and avoid sagging.

2. Ensure Proper Clearance: When installing the clamping bush, check that the specified gaps are present between its segments.

3. Re-tighten After Use: Stop the machine after 30 minutes of operation and re-tighten the clamping bush bolts.

4. Check Roller Position: After installation, ensure the press rollers are correctly aligned between the ring die's process grooves. Use shims if necessary.

5. Verify Axial Clearance: The axial clearance between the press roller and ring die must not exceed 0.3mm. Adjust with shims if needed.

6. Avoid Poor Quality: Do not use inferior ring dies. The out-of-roundness of the die's inner wall should be ≤0.20mm.

Following these steps will extend component life, ensure stable operation, and minimize unplanned downtime.
