1. Q:What is the working process of pellet mill?

A:The mash with water content less than 18% as required enters the feeding auger from the pelletizing chamber in a proper feeding amount through adjusting the rotating speed of the frequency control motor, and then enters the conditioner. The material will be sufficiently mixed with steam in the conditioner by stirring paddles of the conditioner, and molasses or oil can be added through the feeding inlet for molasses if necessary. The temperature of compound mash is normally controlled with 65-95℃ and the humidity 14-18% based on different formulas, and finally the material enters the pelletizing chamber and is pelletized to pellets by the press rollers and the ring die.


2.Q:How many pieces of roller assembly does a pellet mill have?

A:For different pellet mills, there are 2 pieces or 3 pieces of roller assembly per pellet mill respectively.


3.Q:When shall I check and change my roller shell?

A:Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1)Material can enter the ring die, but cannot be pelletized. This may be because: the press rollers or ring die is worn, or the clearance between the press rollers and ring die is too large. If the roller is worn, you need to change it immediately. Otherwise readjust the clearance between the roller and die.

2)The pellet mill is clogged frequently. This may be because: the roller is worn, or a roller gets stuck. You need to check the status of the roller and change it if it is worn, otherwise make the roller move freely.

3)Throughput of the pellet mill is not enough, while the main motor works under full load. This may be caused by a too large clearance between the press roller and ring die, or the over worn rollers and dies. Readjust the clearance for the previous situation or replace the rollers and dies for the latter.

4)The bearing of the press roller is vulnerable. It may be because the clearance between the roller and ring die is too small. Check and adjust the clearance if required.
