Market Comments and Concern
Soybean Meal
Since the cold weather in central and west US may restrain the soybean growth, it is analyzed that the cold weather in soybean producing areas may reduce the farmers’ interest in corn and soybean plantation. The future soybean price was closed higher on Wednesday in CBOT as the weather may keep dry and cold in 7 to 10 days, plus the rumor of importing soybean from South America to meet domestic demand is there in the market.
With the gradually increasing volume of South America soybean to arrive at China ports and the recovering operation rate of oil plants, soybean meal productivity has increased. As a result, the soybean meal supply will become loose since the consumption and demand is relatively lower than the rest time of a year. Therefore, soybean meal price may remain fluctuating in a short term for the limited increase in demand. The hype on weather in US soybean producing areas shall be watched closely.
