Market Comments and Concern
Corn/Maize
Corn price went slightly lower today. There were two rounds of auction for imported corn this week with a total volume of 1.7835 million tons, which is less than the past several weeks. On 27th of August there will be a specific bidding session for imported corn with a total volume of 1.28712 million tons, among which there are 1.05532 million tons of US GMO corn and 0.2318 million tons of Ukraine non-GMO corn. At the end of August the issue on tight supply of local corn will be further relieved with the gradually increasing harvest of corn from South China, the continuous supply of imported corn and massive adoption of alternative materials. Meanwhile, the restriction on transportation will be reduced as the epidemic is being completely contained. It is projected that corn price may drop to some extent from the end of August to September.
